Sarah founded Lumivex Orion back in 2012 after spending way too many years at a big Bay Street firm. She was tired of seeing tech companies get cookie-cutter advice that didn't fit their reality.
With her MBA and JD, she bridges the gap between legal theory and business practice. She's handled over 200 corporate transactions and still gets excited about helping startups navigate their first funding round.

Marcus came to law after working as a software engineer for five years. Yeah, he actually coded before he became a lawyer, which makes him dangerously useful when patent applications start talking about algorithms.
He's registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and has filed over 150 patents. His engineering background means he can actually understand what your developers are talking about.
Outside work, he's big into competitive chess and builds robots with his kids. That engineering brain never really turns off.
Priya specializes in corporate governance and compliance. She joined us in 2015 after working in-house at a major Canadian telco, so she knows what it's like on your side of the table.
She's your go-to person for board matters, regulatory compliance, and making sure your corporate house is in order. She's particularly good at translating complex compliance requirements into practical action plans.
Fun fact: she's a certified yoga instructor and teaches free classes to nonprofit boards on stress management. Because governance doesn't have to be all stress and spreadsheets.
David lives and breathes deals. He's closed over $2 billion in transactions during his career, from small acquisitions to major exits. He joined us in 2018 because he wanted to focus on tech M&A specifically.
What sets David apart is his ability to keep deals moving when they hit inevitable roadblocks. He's seen every possible deal structure and knows which ones actually work in practice.
He's also weirdly into vintage arcade games and has a collection that would make any 80s kid jealous. His office has a working Pac-Man machine.
Jennifer is our privacy guru. She's a CIPP/C certified privacy professional and has helped dozens of companies navigate PIPEDA, GDPR, and now all the new AI regulations popping up.
She came to us in 2019 from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, so she knows how regulators think. That insider perspective is invaluable when you're trying to stay compliant without killing innovation.
She's passionate about ethical tech and regularly speaks at conferences about building privacy into product design from day one.
Alex is our youngest partner and brings fresh energy to everything he touches. He actually ran his own tech startup before law school, so he's been in the founder's seat. That experience shows.
He specializes in helping early-stage companies with incorporation, founder agreements, and equity structures. He's got a knack for explaining complex legal concepts in ways that actually make sense.
Outside the office, he's an angel investor himself and mentors at several Toronto accelerators. He genuinely loves the startup ecosystem and it shows in how he works with clients.
